The iPad Pro is Apple’s top of the range iPad, which has now been refreshed for 2021 with some new features and specs.

There are two different screen sizes available; the 11-inch and the 12.9-inch, with either Wi-Fi only, or Wi-Fi + Cellular functionality. Storage starts at 128GB, going all the way up to a massive 2TB. Most of the features we’ll talk about below are shared across both models, with the exception of the screen and battery, where the 12.9-inch model not only has a larger screen, but also features Apple’s Retina XDR display which Apple say “brings extreme dynamic range to iPad Pro, offering a stunning visual experience with more true-to-life details”.

Both iPad Pro models also feature the M1 chipset which will give it plenty of performance with Apple claiming up to a 50% increase compared to the 2020 model.

Like the new iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, the iPad Pro now supports 5G (Wi-Fi + Cellular model with a compatible data plan) allowing you to connect to the internet at blazing fast speeds (5G Coverage checker UK)

As for the cameras, the front facing (selfie) camera is now a 12MP, f/2.4 (ultrawide), with video recording in 1080p up to 60fps. The rear has a dual camera setup, with the main camera being 12MP f/1.8 (wide) and the second being a 10MP, f/2.4 (ultrawide) lens. Video can be recorded in 4K up to 60fps.

The cost of the new iPad Pro will depend on which screen size you choose (11-inch/12.9-inch), whether you want Wi-Fi only, or need Wi-Fi + Cellular for a 4G/5G data plan, and finally how much storage you need, starting at 128GB going all the way up to 2TB. Both the iPad Pro 11-inch and 12.9-inch models are available to pre-order on Friday 30th April, with deliveries expected to commence in the second half of May.
